Me-go: Around-the-World

Home, Cold Home

I hope you all haven’t given up on me yet. I realize that I have to post my adventures from as far back as December (Laos seems like eons ago!) but it should pick up now. I headed over to Myanmar (Burma) for four weeks where my site was soon blacklisted by the military regime. I could not use email or access my server in any way. The photographs are absolutely stunning and should be up as soon as I get my laptop back in working order.

After flying back from Yangon I had a few days in Bangkok to buy plenty of DVDs and to get my teeth cleaned for a fraction of the price back home. Due to some family issues I have postponed my trip for a while and headed home. When I bought my one-way ticket from Bangkok to Chicago I thought the travel agent said it was through Korea. That sounded good–a few hours in Korea before heading East. But when I picked up my ticket it said Bangkok-Kuwait-Chicago. That’s right, I flew through Kuwait. Although the ticket was a steal at $450 USD, the trip took 28 hour–leaving Bangkok at 3am, spending a few hours in Kuwait and a few hours in Geneva before the long jump over Greenland to Chicago. I’m not ready to go back to the American lifestyle yet so keep an eye out for the continuation of my travels in the future.
