Eating Habits

Written by:

One night in Muang Ngoi (Northern) Laos I was eating dinner with a group of fellow travelers. I ordered a pancake and a plate of fries. When my food came they looked longingly at it and someone said “I wish I had ordered junk fod too!” I laughed and replied “Actually, I was just a little homesick and wanted something I would eat back home.”

This morning I ate 1/3 of a fresh pineapple, a small brownie and a diet vanilla Coke for breakfast. Oh, America, why are you so good at being so bad?

Hey Megan! Not entirely sure from your most recent post if you’re travelling again or still in Chicagoland. Either way, hope you’re doing well. Sorry to hear about your dad, too. Anyway, I just stopped by to tell you that sign-ups for National Novel Writing Month have started again, and I’ll be taking up the challenge for the fourth year now. I still highly recommend it to anybody who ever thought about writing–maybe there’s a travel novel in your future?
