Fiestas Puertoriquenas

Although I haven’t been taking advantage of most of the free events going on in Chicago this summer I did make it up to the Fiestas Puertoriquenas in Humbolt Park in the end of June. I had no excuse, as it was a 10 minute bike ride from my apartment and a beautiful day. I didn’t stay for the music and only ate a so-so dish of $12 chicken and rice but the kitchy carnival rides were fun to photograph. Check out my photos here in the gallery. I love the lighting in this one.

Flags worn as capes were popular Plenty of Puerto Rican themed onesies and bikinis on sale Traffic rerouted around the park
Behind the scenes Lots of food vendors at the fest Some areas got really crowded
