Last year we had the polar vortex but this year feels worse somehow. I spent one glorious day outside in Houston before starting a work gig and people were outside having picnics and genuinely looked not miserable like us northerners.

Hi Megan – this is Lisa’s CO friend, Kristin. She told me that she’s going to meet up with you this month. I asked her if you still were doing your blog (she sent it to me years back when you were traveling). I love your blog and I am signing up to keep informed of your adventures (and Lisa’s with you) – and your cartwheels! :O)

Welcome! I’m going low-tech on this trip and won’t have a lot up until I’m back… Still haven’t figured how to get my photos from my camera to the web without a computer.
I totally understand. I look forward to the updates when you can do them. Have a great time and keep cartwheeling! :O)
Where in Houston is that rusty sculpture located? It looks just like one on the University of Washington campus in Seattle titled “Broken Obelisk”:

Envying your time away from the cold weather!

It’s in front of the Rothko Chapel, which I also think you’d find interesting.
